When your heart is broken, it seems as though life itself isn't worth living anymore and getting through each new day is a struggle. It seems as though you can't get that person out of your thoughts. Don't despair, this mental torture is normal.
In the meanwhile, do your best to move forward with your life, meet new people, exercise, take a new class, etc. As the days pass, and soon weeks, and eventually months and then years, you will find yourself thinking of that person less and less, until one day...you don't think of them any more. Then you truly know you've moved on with your life.
Yes, its a lengthy process, depending on your own personal situation, but Time is the one thing that will help you to heal your wounds.
